Flow Measurement Solutions for Microvascular Surgery

Products to assure anastomotic patency

Get immediate, quantitative data to objectively assess the quality of an anastomosis, reconstruction, or replantation

Patency of microvascular vessels poses challenges for microvascular surgeons. Transonic’s Microvascular Perivascular flow probes are an invaluable tool to assure anastomotic patency. With unsurpassed accuracy, the Optima flow meter and microvascular flow probes provide immediate, quantitative data to objectively assess the quality of an anastomosis, reconstruction, or replantation.

In a prospective study, Selber et al concluded that transit-time flow volume “provides novel physiologic flap data and identifies flawed anastomoses. These data have clinical value in microsurgery and hold the potential to reduce microvascular complications and improve outcomes.”

Measurements augment the surgeon’s clinical impressions as they are constantly evaluating surgical progress. Other advantages of our technology include:

  • First-time-ever measurement in vessels as small as 0.5 mm with the new 0.7 mm Microvascular flow probe
  • Detection and repair of unseen blood flow obstructions before leaving the OR
  • Reduction of bring-backs
  • Potential reduction of the need for intensive post-op monitoring
