Regarding EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) law, Transonic is making every effort to ensure compliance, both for our future customers who are just learning about flow measurement as well as for our active customers. Transonic is not a Data Controller nor a Data Processor pursuant to the definitions of the GDPR as Transonic does not process, disclose, or in any manner control the data collected and stored by our devices once they are in our customer’s hands. Processing of the data collected during use of any Transonic Products (e.g., storing or exporting patient measurement data) will depend on the internal procedures and requirements of the customer’s institution. Every device sold by Transonic is able to be used without any identifying patient data entry and thus can easily be made to comply with EU standards by simply not entering patient information and logging in patient data into the patient’s personal chart. Pseudonymizing patient sensitive data with Transonic devices is also possible through use of Patient ID rather than Patient Name. If you have any questions on use of your device and the GDPR requirements, please contact Transonic at DataPrivacy@transonic.com.
