Most non-aerated liquids can be measured including saline and buffer solutions, blood, water and even Diesel fuel. No physical contact is made with the fluid media. PXL-Series Flowsensors can be calibrated and programmed for up to 4 different fluid / temperature / tubing combinations and will work with most flexible tubing types. Sensor size is determined by outside diameter of the tubing.

Calibrated to Specification

Sterile tubing flowsensors are calibrated for the tubing fluid, temperature and typical flow rate with which the sensor will be used for the greatest accuracy. Up to four combinations are possible for each sensor.
 

Fluid Type & Temperature

Since fluid density and temperature alter the transit time of the ultrasound signal, the sensors are calibrated for these parameters. Sttandard calibrations include: Blood, glycerine/water solutions, saline and buffer solutions at 23 or 37 degrees C.Custom calibration for other solutions is available for extra charge. (An MSDS is required before handling the solution).
 

Tubing Type

Medical grade and laboratory tubing are generally compatable for use with XL-Sensors. Rigid PVC and lucite are not. We stock several standard tubing types noted in the table below. For other tubing types, a 30 cm sample is required for sensor calibration.
 

Calibration Certification

Transonic Systems provides documentation for calibration traceable to NIST standards.
