Transonic HQ-Series Perivascular Flowprobes and
Sterile Tubing Flowsensors are used with Transonic HT300-Series flowmeters. Employing transit-time ultrasound technology, ultrasonic transducers within the
Flowprobe/Flowsensor body transmit a minimum level of ultrasound through a rectangular sensing window to measure all liquid volume flow passing through the sensing window.
The Flowprobes/Flowsensors connect to the flowmeter via an extension cable attached to the front of the Flowmeter. Two categories of HQ-Series Flowsensors work with the
flowmeter. They include:
Transonic HQ-Series Intraoperative
Perivascular Flowprobes
Flowprobes that operate with HT300-Series Flowmeters to measure instantaneous and average volume flow during surgery in arteries, veins and
ducts from 1-36 mm diameter. These Surgical Flowprobes are customized for individual surgical procedures and measurement needs to provide a
functional assessment of newly anastomosed vessels and grafts. Simply slip a probe around the vessel or graft for an instantaneous reading of flow
in milliliters or liters per minute.
Neurosurgery Flowprobes Preservation of cerebral blood flow during intracranial surgical procedures is of primary
importance to cerebrovascular neurosurgeons. For these surgeons Transonic Flow-QC confirms flow integrity in vessels at risk and validates the
functional success of intracranial surgery. Flow-QC will also prompt the surgeon to correct flow deficiencies and avoid intraoperative stroke.
Transonic intracranial flowprobes are disposable to protect against Creutzfeld Jakob Disease (CJD, “Mad Cow” disease). In Asia, reusable intracranial
flowprobes are also offered.
Transonic HQ-XL Series Sterile Tubing
Flowsensors
XL Flowsensors work with HT300-Series flowmeters within the sterile field. They apply ultrasound energy through flexible tubing to monitor
instantaneous and average volume flow of blood, cardioplegia or other perfusates as in extracorporeal shunts (ex., portal vein bypass shunts, lower
body/upper body bypass shunts during liver transplants, and carotid shunts). Sterile Tubing Flowsensors measure volume flow of fluids through flexible
PVC/silicone/polyurethane tubing used within the surgical field during perfusion and bypass applications where flow is of vital importance to surgical outcomes.
