Blood Flow Measurements during Transplant Surgery
In seconds, Transonic Flow-QC provides an on-the-spot, functional assessment of true volume flow in ml/min or L/min during: Adequate blood flow in a newly transplanted organ is critical for a successful surgical outcome. The Transonic flowmeter identifies flow-limiting technical problems early for prompt correction while the patient is still in the OR. By slipping a Transonic flowprobe around a vessel to get quantitative flow measurements in ml/min, you can reduce the need for intraoperative angiograms; save time and money with pose less risk to the patient.
Flow-QC® Benefits
“Abnormal hepatic hemodynamics and physiology in the transplanted liver pose continuing challenges for the surgeon. A practical method for measuring two of these hemodynamic parameters, portal venous and hepatic arterial flows, is by intraoperative flow measurements. Transit-time ultrasound technology is well suited to measure these flows. Flowprobes are easily applied and do not have to be applied tightly to vessels; they simply encompasss the vessel.” - J.
